- Oil on canvas

- Corrida
“Dance” opens the Corrida series, drawing the viewer into the space of the event before its culmination. It does not depict the fight itself, but the moment in which tension is born — the first gestures, the movement, the mutual watching, the ritual that precedes confrontation.
The expansive horizontal composition is built on the contrast between luminous yellows, deep black and intense accents of red and blue. Vertical bands of colour cut across the space like traces of movement, marking rhythm and direction, while black forms create a sense of a presence only beginning to gather strength.
The painting does not tell the story of a particular scene from the bullring. It is an abstract record of the energy of an encounter — a moment in which beauty, tension and uncertainty still hold a fragile balance. It is from that balance that the narrative of the whole series unfolds.
The first of five monumental triptychs belonging to the Corrida series.
