The first work opens the series, referring to the primal gesture and the energy inscribed in the ritual of the corrida. A monumental black trace becomes a sign of presence, tension and force, out of which the painting is born. It is the beginning of a dialogue with Picasso’s idea of synthesis — the conviction that a single gesture can contain the whole intensity of an experience.
