Abstraction No. 8, 2015

Abstract No. 8 examines the relationship between light, space and rhythm. Horizontal bands of colour and vertical traces of running paint create a composition that remains open and full of inner breath.

Light does not serve to describe here; it builds the atmosphere of the painting. The individual layers permeate one another, creating a space suspended between the materiality of painting and the fleetingness of experience.
