Abstraction No. 25 explores the possibility of building space solely through the relationships of matter, light and colour. The dense surface of the painting is formed from many overlapping layers that create a complex web of rhythms and subtle tonal transitions.

The painting does not lead the eye to a single centre. It allows space to be experienced as a process of continuous discovery, in which every layer retains the memory of the one before, and the whole remains open to further readings.
